Herniated disc (lumbar and cervical)
Cervical Osteoarthritis
Wear and tear of the neck joints with pain and stiffness. We use specific physical therapy, guided facet blocks, and, where appropriate, rhizotomy to help you turn your head while driving without discomfort. Common symptoms: stiffness when turning, pain in the shoulders/scapulae, occasional dizziness. When to consult: If it limits your activities or rest.
Discopathy
As we age, the intervertebral discs lose their cushioning capacity, they lose elasticity, change size, and the distance between the vertebrae decreases.
Disc disease is a process that occurs with aging and sometimes causes pressure on the spinal nerve, necessitating nerve decompression.
Lumbar spinal stenosis
Lumbar spinal canal stenosis is a generally chronic spinal condition caused by a narrowing of the spinal canal, resulting in damage to the nerves that pass through it.
They are usually due to osteoarthritis of the posterior joints of the vertebrae, but can also occur due to ligament hypertrophy, osteophytes of the vertebral bodies, or deviations in a segment of the spine.
Scoliosis
Scoliosis is an alteration of the alignment of the spine occurring primarily in the thoracic segment, but can appear at the lumbar level or extend between them.
Scoliasis requires correct and ongoing assessment as soon as it is diagnosed.
They can cause aesthetic alterations, but in very serious cases, they will require specific treatment depending on the existing deformity.
Spondylolysis
Spondylolysis is a spinal problem that occurs when there is a crack or fracture in one of the vertebrae. This problem, although it does not directly affect the spinal discs, can cause pain in the lumbar region (lower back). This pain may be felt only in the back or may also radiate down the legs (similar to sciatica). Sometimes, this problem can go unnoticed, especially if you have good muscles and healthy tissues in the back area. However, in more severe cases, it can affect the nerves and cause more intense symptoms.
Spondylolisthesis
Spondylolisthesis is a spinal problem that occurs when a vertebra slips or moves out of place due to a crack or fracture. This can cause back pain. The pain may be only in the back or may extend to the legs, as with sciatica. This may go unnoticed if you have strong back muscles and healthy tissues around the spine. But in more severe cases, it can cause more severe symptoms if it affects the nerves.
