What do we deal with at Biziondo?

Disc herniation is a lesion located in the intervertebral disc that consists of the involvement of the fibrous annulus, favoring the exit of the nucleus pulposus (shock absorber) and being able to compress adjacent structures of the spine. 

Its injury greatly affects the correct movement of the spine, so complications can occur long after the injury.

Lumbar canal stenosis is a generally chronic affectation of the spine and is produced by a narrowing of the spinal canal, resulting in damage to the nerves that pass through this canal.

 They are generally due to osteoarthritis of the posterior joints of the vertebrae, but they can also occur due to hypertrophy of the ligaments, osteophytes of the vertebral bodies, or deviations through a segment of the spine.

Cervicoarthrosis myelopathy or cervical osteoarthritis consists of an injury to the spinal cord caused by degeneration of the joint that compresses it, causing pain or weakness in the arms or even problems in the legs, making basic activities difficult both from a perspective work as personal.

Scoliosis is an alteration of the alignment of the spine occurring mainly in the dorsal segment, but can appear at the lumbar level or extend between them.

 Scoliasis requires a correct and constant evaluation as soon as it has been diagnosed. They can produce aesthetic alterations, but in very serious cases, they will require specific treatment depending on the existing deformity.

As the years go by, the intervertebral discs lose their cushioning capacity, the discs lose elasticity, change in size and the distance between vertebrae is smaller. 

Discopathy is an aging process that sometimes puts pressure on the spinal nerve and the nerve needs to be decompressed.

Spondylolysis is a pathology of the vertebral column (not the vertebral disc).

 It consists of an affectation of the joint produced by a fissure or fracture (hence the term -lysis) that by itself produces pain, but being in an environment with good musculature and joint tissues such as ligaments and correct cartilage, it can simply pass as a picture of lumbar pain and in the most serious cases, with neurological affectation producing pictures similar to those of a lumbosciatica.

Spondylolisthesis is a pathology originating in the spine in which at least two factors are present, a joint injury (vertebra factor) and a displacement (unstable factor). 

It consists of an involvement of the joint caused by a fissure or fracture (hence the term -lysis) that by itself produces pain, but like spondylolysis, when it is in an environment with good muscles and joint tissues such as ligaments and correct cartilage, it can pass simply as a picture of lumbar pain and in the most serious cases, with neurological affectation producing pictures similar to those of a lumbosciatica.
